From February 26th-29th, MovementForward and the National Sheriff’s Association, in partnership with local law enforcement entities, held a series of important training sessions in Athens, Georgia. The events included a mock training day for local community organizations and houses of worship where participants went through a ‘shoot don’t shoot’ simulation and a ride along, an active shooter training, and the local launch of One Congregation One Precinct (OneCOP). OneCOP is an innovative program that facilitates positive, ongoing partnerships between local law enforcement agencies and diverse congregations of every faith tradition.
