Virtual Prayer Vigil for Portland Law Enforcement
This past weekend, the OneCOP initiative, along with the National Sheriffs Association and the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement, hosted a virtual vigil for law enforcement officers in Portland, Oregon. Police officers have been operating under the strain of the coronavirus pandemic and the vigil was intended to provide spiritual and emotional support. The Portland Police Chief, Multnomah County Sheriff, and the U.S. Attorney had the opportunity to reflect on serving the public at this time, and faith leaders from a diversity of backgrounds offered words of support. Over a hundred and fifty faith and community leaders tuned into the vigil, and you can watch a recording here.
